Week 69 — Solstice, so long Winter

  • Feeling a bit run-down this week. I think it's a combination of long days and freezing cold morning walks.
  • Destiny 2 has continued to take up most of my gamin' time this week. I moved the Playstation closer to the router such that we could run an ethernet cable to it. Playing Crucible with AU pings has been much more manageable on a solid connection. No more dying before I even make it in to a room. Now I can at least make it in before being clobbered.\
  • Crumpet ate a piece of chocolate this week. It was only 2g (she's around 9kg) but it was the first time she's ever eaten something food-like off the ground that wasn't near her bowl. I mean, not that we often drop food and leave it around the house, but often when I'm cooking bits will fall off the counter and she'll just ignore them (unless it happens to be cheese). Anyway Dr. Google assured us it would all be fine, and it was. Though we did call the vet to make sure.
  • The new expansion for Elden Ring launched this week too. I jumped in a bit on Thursday to get up to the right place to be able to start it, and I'd completely forgotten how my build even worked. I'm sure it did, because I played through NG+ many times with it, but just clearing out the pre-requisite areas for the expansion was a bit of a challenge. I'm about 2 actual bosses in to the expansion, and it is bloody hard. But, being able to wander off to some other boss and explore the beautiful landscape is an option that I have been taking full advantage of! I have been taking so many darn screenshots that I am hoping to post here (if I can download them easily off the PS5).
  • I've been doing some more on reprint.computer this weekend. Mostly cleanup and completing features that I had started, but put down while I worked out the best way to finish them. I also added Threads support, which needed a Facebook account. Thankfully, I had one tied to an email address from an old employer. I was able to log in and change the email via the developer portal, but not via Facebook itself 🙃 so go figure. Anyway, developing for it continues to be a pain and the process of "app review" remains a mystery, but at least the APIs are well documented.
